Backhoe dredger SEEM 39-970ST « Benchicao » spuds implementation

A complex handling operation was carried out by Merré shipyard with the three spuds implementation onboard the backhoe dredger SEEM 39-970ST « Benchicao ».
Expected delivery in 2016, she was designed to work together with two split barges, also building Saint-Nazaire and shiped to Algeria. Fitted with three spuds to ensure her stabilization at sea, the pontoon embarks a hydraulic excavator able to work at 20 meters depth. The extracted materials are then stored on the split bargse, which when loaded carries the dredging products to the cladding areas.
