A new double-end ferry under construction

Merré Shipyard was very recently notified by the Departmental Council of Seine Maritime, the construction of "BAC 24", a latest generation double ended ferry that will ensure the passage of cars, cars and trucks between Quillebeuf and Port-Jérôme, on the Seine river.

This new success for the shipyard has resulted in the excellence of the know-how of its personnel in the segment of passenger ships and more particularly "double ended ferries".
In addition of Seydhou doubled ended ferry in Senegal, the shipyard has designed and built "Barcarin V" double-end ferry on the Rhone, and "Lola" and "Ile Dumet" double-end ferries, delivered in 2012 and 2013 to the Loire-Atlantique County Council (44).

The "BAC 24" is an overall length of 66 m, of which 40 m for the float, perhaps 145 passengers and 27 cars on 3 files, or 2 convoy tractor / semi-trailer of 44 t each, 9 cars and 57 passengers, capacity necessary for the passage of Quillebeuf.

The hull is made of steel, the aluminum superstructures, the insured set of reinforced protection for the fairing periods.

The "BAC 24" is powered by four Schottel SPJ 82 jet pumps, driven by a Cummins QSL9 diesel engine of 187.5 KW, for a total power of 750 KW for the vessel. The "BAC 24" is designed to receive injection catalytic converters to meet the emission standards applicable in the coming years.

After the tests conducted in Saint-Nazaire, on the Loire river, between Saint-Nazaire and Nantes, the "BAC 24" will be loaded to its site on the Seine. The reception is scheduled for March 2020.

The Brest subsidiary of the BMA group, the CIB shipyard, is no better off, either currently under construction or in construction of a modern trawler of 15 m, while the third souvenir was RP10 under construction in fast of aluminum lagoon surveillance, intended for export
