A new set of cutter suction dredger and multipurpose vessel

Services Industriel de Genève owner has just confirmed the order at Merré shipyard with a new cutter suction dredger and a multipurpose vessel

This cutter suction dredger is propelled by the multipurpose vessel who are intended to be operated on the Rhone river near Geneva.
Merré shipyard has relied on several decades of experience in the construction of dredgers, pontoons, seagoing ships and river vessel in order to propose two tailor-made vessels to meet the specific needs of the Owner.

The SEEM ST CT 25-500 cutter suction dredger is designed by the Merré Design Office and will extract approximately 50000 m3 of material per year with a maximum of 800 m3 of solid sediment per day. This cutter suction dredger is therefore designed to pump and discharge materials 150 mm in diameter at a distance of 300 meters.
The concept of the SEEM ST CT 25-500 cutter suction dredger allows her use on different localisations. It can also be transported by road on a different operating area because she can be taken to pieces.
Dredging is carried out by two crew members.

The 14 m multipurpose vessel is propelled by two jets and designed to carry out the following works :

• Dredger positionning on shallow waters and high stream areas,
• Moving the dredger piping,
• Maintenance works and equipments transport,
• Pushing barges up to 330 tons.

This vessel is optimized and designed for a navigation on the Rhone river on shallow waters and high stream areas.
She is designed for easy use by two crew members.This new dredging set will be in operation at least for the next thirty years.
