Tug SEEM 12-800ST « L'Aigrette » on sea trials in Toulon

The leadership L'Aigrette of the new tugs-pushers intended for the French Navy have started his sea trials in Toulon.
Following the commissioning carried out in Nort sur Erdre at Merré shipyard, the sea trials will be finalized and the delivery would be expected in May 2018. Mass production must then begin with the commissioning and sea trials feedback integration from L'Aigrette, if necessary.

Built with a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, this 12 meters length pusher-tug can reach a speed of 8 knots and has a 10 tonnes bollard pull.

Intended to tow ships and submarines of the French Navy, these new tugs-pushers will allow to replace the old fleet currently in service in France and the overseas territories.
Thus, in addition to Brest, Toulon and Cherbourg, these ships will also operatein Martinique, New Caledonia, Polynesia, Reunion and Mayotte, but also Djibouti and Dakar.
After the sea trials acceptance in Toulon, L'Aigrette will be deployed in the Port of Dakar.

Announced in January 2017, the launch of the RP10 program saw the notification of a first contract between the French Navy and Merré shipyard, but also CMN shipyard in accordance with our partnership.
The complete serie of 29 pusher-tugs will be delivered 2022.
As part of the agreement, Merré and CIB in Brest will build 15 sisterships, CMN providing the other 14.
